Spring has officially sprung and the flowers are starting to bloom all over the place. It’s time to come out of winter hibernation and explore the no longer brutal outdoors. This is a great place to get a few selfies of you and your boo or just to take pictures of a lot of different varieties of tulips. Also, they keep half of the field open for picking so you can take home a wonderful assortment of tulips to remember your adventure. They charge $1 per tulip so budget appropriately.

FULL DISCLOSURE: you will need to purchase tickets ahead of time via their website and they do tend to sell out quickly if you’re planning to go on the weekend. The best way to find out when the tickets go on sale is to sign up for their mailing list because this event is completely dependent on when the flowers are blooming. They also do pre-sales and open ticket sales to newsletter subscribers before they release tickets to the public. We return to your regularly scheduled programming.

When you pull up towards the farm, you will be greeted by a dedicated staff of Tulip professionals who will direct you towards the farm parking lot right next to the fields. As you walk towards the entrance, you are sent over for a quick tutorial on how to efficiently pluck tulips without taking the bulbs with you. You will first walk through the gallery garden where you can take the aforementioned selfies and then from there you walk into the self-picking garden where you should grab a bucket to store all of your tulip plunder. Once you are content with your haul, head over to the wrapping stations where many tulip enthusiasts will help you wrap your flowers like a pro.

If you and your special someone have gone to Wicked Tulips or are planning to go we’d love to hear about your adventures. Happy tulip hunting!!!

  1. I missed it, but loved your photos. Living in the woods of SK, the rabbits wreak havoc on tulips, so I only had two that made it to the flower stage. Oh, well…Clare
