Date night ideas for a rainy day

15 Date Ideas for a Rainy Day

Now that my wonderful wife and I have started to nestle back in to living in the great Pacific Northwest, a stark reality hit us. It rains all the time in winter. I grew up here and fully expected this. Being the outdoorsy person I am, this didn’t register as a problem as rain means snow in the mountains, which then means I’m in the mountains. Simple math for a simple man. Anyways, now that I have chosen to join my life with someone else, I realized that this can’t always be the case. Bummer or opportunity in disguise? I’ll let you be the judge but I’ve tended towards the latter. Here are a few ways you can have just as much – if not more – fun on a date night with your boo while the heavens rain down. Take in some art – When it’s bright and sunny you usually don’t think about going to a museum so… if it’s raining this might be your shot. There is always a local historical society …

Date Night Worthy Recipe: Dairy-Free 2-Ingredient Banana Ice Cream

This post comes on the heels of another creation by our resident Tonight’s Better Together Chef, Joe Choi. He brought you an amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe previously and now he’s come to finish the job by helping turn those cookies into ice cream cookie sandwiches! If you’re not quite sure about dairy free ice cream, get ready to have your mind blown.    Banana ice cream is exactly what it sounds like. It’s ice cream that is solely made up of bananas. This is a relatively easy ice cream to make and it is dairy-free, which means this will be delicious for everyone. Basically you want to take some ripe bananas, but not banana bread ripe, and peel and slice them into medallions. Next, spread them out on a tray and place them in the freezer for 15-25 minutes or until they are solid yet pliable, not frozen solid. Then you’ll want to use a food processor and blitz all the banana medallions until it starts to become smooth. Sometimes I will add a …

It was a hot and muggy afternoon so we figured what better way to enjoy a summer day than with fresh baked desserts and some ice cream. I was told they had already posted a phenomenal chocolate chip cookie recipe but I implored them to try my personal chocolate chip cookie recipe that could easily be converted into a blondie recipe. To top it off, a little non-dairy, peanut …

25 ways to love your wife

25 Ways to Love Your Wife

If you’ve been married for a minute, you may have heard of the book “The 5 Love Languages” by Gary Chapman. If not, it is a must read for anyone looking to win at the game of marriage, meaning everyone who aspires to live life with their best friend! My wife and I have found this to be a very useful tool in identifying how each of us prefers to be loved. Not sure what you or your spouses love languages are? Take the quiz! As the title of the book suggests, there are 5 love languages: gift giving, quality time, words of affirmation, acts of service, and physical touch. The titles are fairly self-explanatory; however, the book describes the implications of how the reader can adjust to their partners specific love language. On the flip side, the book offers you the opportunity to determine your own language and help you communicate that to your partner. The 5 love languages go both ways and here at Tonight’s Better Together, we wanted to give you simple …
